Year 6 maths gap finder: SATs preparation toolkit
Designed by the HFL Primary Maths Team, this toolkit aims to support Year 6 teachers and leaders with identifying gaps in children’s learning. By using the resources within this toolkit, teachers can easily identify the strengths and areas to develop of their students in both arithmetic and reasoning style. Teachers and leaders can then act upon this knowledge to prepare children for end of key stage assessments and secondary school by making adaptations to long term planning, small group teaching, individual support or fluency sessions.
The suite includes:
- Collections of questions for high value concepts with answers and diagnostic guidance: finding fractions of amounts; formal multiplication; formal division; multiplying and dividing by powers of 10
- Question specific arithmetic style papers; addition and subtraction; using known facts for multiplication and division; multiplying and dividing by powers of 10
- SATs style arithmetic diagnostic paper including planning guide and digital analysis mark book
- Teaching problem-solving skills PowerPoint
