How do working scientifically skills progress from EYFS to Upper KS2?  

This bundle includes a progression in working scientifically skills overview and our new working scientifically building blocks, which show how working scientifically skills begin in EYFS and progress through into Upper KS2.  

The overview, giving a helpful table of key statements by area and age, showcases the small steps in learning pupils need to make in order to develop secure understanding of how to work scientifically and gain greater independence as they move through the curriculum.  

The working scientifically building blocks represent the three skill areas shown in the overview table and represent how working scientifically skills progress through the phases. The building blocks can be used in a variety of ways to raise pupil’s awareness of what it means to work scientifically.
