Focused English Plan – Year 1 – Jasper’s Beanstalk transition unit
This focused English plan will support teachers in Year 1 to deliver a transition unit at the beginning of Autumn Term unit based on the delightful contemporary text ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. Covering a range of spoken language, reading and writing skills, this plan demonstrates how these aspects of learning can be delivered through engaging and purposeful learning opportunities. Attuning skills in writing to inform, children will produce a number of incidental written pieces of work, culminating in their own simple instructions at the end of the unit.
