Curriculum design in the Early Years Foundation Stage: a step-by-step guide
Curriculum Design in the Early Years Foundation Stage, a step-by-step guide, has been designed to support EYFS team leaders in guiding their colleagues through a process of developing an engaging and responsive curriculum that will meet the needs of all the early years children in their school or setting.
The materials include a range of activities that will help practitioners to consider all aspects of curriculum design, implementation and evaluation. They have been updated with a section on foundational knowledge (available separately for schools that have previously purchased the materials), providing ideas of ways in which continuous provision can be adapted to introduce children to concepts and vocabulary they will learn in key stage 1.
After working through the materials, all members of an early years team will be able to confidently articulate their setting’s curriculum, the rationale behind it, the clear sequencing of the learning and the impact that it has on children’s development and progress.
