This PowerPoint contains a collection of frames and templates designed to support the development and rehearsal of written methods for the four operations across the primary phase. Also included are informal strategies, such as part whole models for multiplication, which can be used to support the progression into written methods.

These can be used alongside any scheme and are design to support live modelling and rehearsal. The visual tools can be used on interactive whiteboards to model thinking, guide structured practice, and encourage pupil participation during whole-class or small-group teaching. For some slides, there are visual representations of base-10 equipment included.
